Kids Earn a Free Book!!

The Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program is here to help you on your way, encouraging you to read books of your own choosing and earn a FREE book, simply by following these three easy steps:

1. Read any eight books this summer and record them in your Summer Reading Journal (English or Español). Tell us which part of the book is your favorite, and why.
2. Bring your completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store between May 16th and September 5th, 2017. Find a Store
3. Choose your FREE reading adventure from the book list featured on the back of the journal.

West Side Library

There are so many wonderful programs and opportunities at the West Side Library!

The West Branch Library is Open! 
 We are open Monday through Friday
Mondays-Thursdays we are open in the afternoon from 12:30-5:30
 Fridays, we are open 9:30-1:30.  
We will have lots of programs for the kids and teen after school as well as a morning storytime on Fridays.


Youth Center

The Regis A. Lemaire Youth Center
is opening again!  
It provides a safe space for internet access, opportunities to complete homework, table games, and in fun with friends.  It will be open for the month of November on weekday afternoons from 3:00PM to 6:00PM.  The center is open to 9-15 year olds in Manchester and it is free of charge. The Lemaire Center has been and will continue to be a positive environment for the youth in Manchester.

Computer Science Education Week  
December 5 - 11


"Launched in 2013, Code.org® is a non-profit dedicated to expanding access to computer science, and increasing participation by women and underrepresented students of color. Our vision is that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science. We believe computer science should be part of core curriculum, alongside other courses such as biology, chemistry or algebra."

This summer we are sending home summer work for both Math and Reading. Any student who completes their grade level summer enrichment will be invited to:

Our next session of Positive Solutions for Families will begin on July 11th.  Space is limited – so please have clients register soon!

 

As always our HiSET program is enrolling clients year round for the four classes we offer.  We offer two day time classes at our 435 South Main Street location and two evening classes, at Gossler Park Elementary School and Beech Street School.

  • For the safety of your child, any changes to his/her dismissal need to be in writing to the teacher. 

  • Don't forget to call 624-6321 to report your child absent. Please state first and last name, teacher name and the reason why your child is absent from school.
