West Side Library

There are so many wonderful programs and opportunities at the West Side Library! 
Check out their monthly flyers 
Some programs include:
The West Branch Library is Open! 
 We are open Monday through Friday
Mondays-Thursdays we are open in the afternoon from 12:30-5:30
 Fridays, we are open 9:30-1:30.  
We will have lots of programs for the kids and teen after school as well as a morning storytime on Fridays.

Youth Center

The Regis A. Lemaire Youth Center
is opening again!  
It provides a safe space for internet access, opportunities to complete homework, table games, and in fun with friends.  It will be open for the month of November on weekday afternoons from 3:00PM to 6:00PM.  The center is open to 9-15 year olds in Manchester and it is free of charge. The Lemaire Center has been and will continue to be a positive environment for the youth in Manchester.

Basketball Program

The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department is offering the Saturday Basketball Program again!  

The program is at Beech St School every Saturday from 9:00Am to 4:00PM starting December 3rd, 2016 and ending on April 8th 2017. It is for children in Manchester ages 7-17 and it is free of charge.  This program gives the opportunity for children on the weekend to enjoy supervised basketball fun.

This is a drop in program so there are no teams or standings.  Each age group is assigned their own 90 minute block.

Hour of Code

Computer Science Education Week  
December 5 - 11

"Launched in 2013, Code.org® is a non-profit dedicated to expanding access to computer science, and increasing participation by women and underrepresented students of color. Our vision is that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science. We believe computer science should be part of core curriculum, alongside other courses such as biology, chemistry or algebra."

6:00pm - 7:00pm

Students' artwork will be displayed and available to purchase for $15.00 at the framing station! 


Send in the Art Fair order form (checks made out to Northwest Elementary) and your child/children artwork will be displayed already framed and ready to go home! 


Reminders for the School Year

  • For the safety of your child, any changes to his/her dismissal need to be in writing to the teacher. 

  • Don't forget to call 624-6321 to report your child absent. Please state first and last name, teacher name and the reason why your child is absent from school.
